Conduit Studio Designs iPad App for Grand Rapids Art Museum
Art iPad App Downloaded in 16 Countries in First Week
Grand Rapids-based design firm Conduit Studio and the Grand Rapids Art Museum are celebrating the launch of The Jansma Print Collection iPad app. The app was released on iTunes March 8 and downloaded in 16 countries the first week, including China, Mexico, France, UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, Russia, Spain, and Saudi Arabia. The app offers an interactive experience for museum visitors and digital users worldwide. Users can dive deeper into the collection and explore the exhibition with this user-friendly resource presented by GRAM and designed by Conduit Studio.
“GRAM is fortunate to have these unique old master prints in our collection, but because of their delicate nature, we must limit the time they are on view,” says Dana Friis-Hansen, Director of the Grand Rapids Art Museum. “Working with Conduit Studio to create an iPad app and special website, we have made our collection and our scholarship accessible for independent learning at any time and in any place—we’re so excited to find that by expanding our digital media program, GRAM is growing a truly global audience.”
“The Jansma Print Collection is an important and significant addition to the permanent collection of the Grand Rapids Art Museum, including masterworks from Rembrandt and Manet,” says Creative Director of Conduit Studio, John O’Neill. “It was an honor to be able to collaborate with the GRAM on their first App and to see the global reach it has achieved in just its first week. As designers, it was great to spend so much time immersed in the artwork of these masters.”
